These treatments are not experiments. Microneedling has been in clinical use since the 1990s. CO2 laser resurfacing has been used on skin for decades. And Morpheus8, which combines Microneedling with radiofrequency, has been FDA-cleared since 2020 and studied since. All three are well understood, and we have performed enough of them to know exactly what to expect. Your provider will select the appropriate treatment and intensity for your skin, explain what to expect and make sure you know how to care for your skin afterward.

You'll feel something, but nothing you'll have to grit your teeth through. Microneedling feels like light scratching and warmth. NovaThreads feel like pressure and tugging once the area is numb. Alma Hybrid brings heat along with tiny pinpricks, and Ultherapy delivers brief flashes of heat as the energy reaches deeper tissue. Morpheus8 is the most intense of the group, combining deep heat with the pinprick sensation of the microneedles.

Alma Hybrid Fractional CO2
For sun damage, texture, and scarring. The Alma Hybrid works from the surface down. One beam gently resurfaces the outer layer of damaged skin while a second beam travels deeper without breaking the surface, warming the skin so it builds new collagen over the following weeks. Sessions
Most people do a series of three, spaced four to six weeks apart. Some may just need one session.
Recovery
Depends on how deep we go. A lighter treatment means two to three days of redness and light flaking, and you're presentable by the weekend. A deeper one, which is what real sun damage and scarring need, runs five to seven days of redness, swelling, and peeling. We'll tell you which you're getting before you book, so you can plan around it.
Results
Surface brightness within a week or two. Texture and collagen changes build over three to six months and continue after the last session.

Morpheus8
For skin that has started to loosen. Morpheus8 is not a laser. It uses very fine needles to deliver radiofrequency heat underneath the skin while leaving the surface mostly untouched, firming the jawline and improving crepey texture. Microneedling

You can book a single treatment, and some people do before an event or to see how their skin responds. But collagen builds across a series, so we typically recommend three, paired with PRP or PDRN to feed the healing.

PRP & PDRN
Resurfacing and microneedling work by making tiny, deliberate wounds in the skin. Your body treats them like any other injury and rebuilds, and the skin that grows back is firmer and smoother than what was there. PRP and PDRN help that repair happen faster and go further.
PRP comes from you. We draw a small vial of blood, about what you'd give for a routine lab, and spin it in a centrifuge for a few minutes. That separates out the platelets, the part of your blood that shows up first at any injury and signals the body to start rebuilding. What's left is a concentrated golden layer, and that's what goes back into your skin, either applied during microneedling so it travels down the channels, or injected directly where we want the most repair.
The whole thing adds about fifteen minutes to your appointment, and since it's your own blood, there's nothing to react to. Learn more about PRP & PDRN →

I Had the Alma Hybrid CO₂ Myself
I wanted smoother texture and to soften the crepey look starting in my cheeks, so my colleague Nurse Marina treated me. Here is honestly how it went.
The treatment: About an hour of numbing, then 45 minutes of laser. A Zimmer cooler blew chilled air over my skin the whole time, which made a real difference in comfort.
Days 1 to 4: Redness and mild swelling that felt like a sunburn, then itching and a rough, sandpaper texture.
Days 4 to 10: Light peeling, then lingering pinkness that gradually faded. I wore tinted sunscreen every single day, even when I was not leaving the house.
